Welcoming the return of our face-to-face Maximo user forum in Aberdeen...

Maximo Energy User Forum 2022

Despite COVID making a return, a busy month of go-lives, and travel issues up and down the country; last week's Maximo Energy User Forum was a huge success!

This was the first physical/face-to-face forum we have been able to run since before the pandemic - and it was fantastic to meet with Maximo users from the Energy community (Oil & Gas, Renewables and Utilities) once again. With presentations from prominent industry professionals and important clients, the content and resulting conversations made this yet another fantastic Maximo User Forum...

After a brief welcome and introduction from Helen Fisher and Sarah Brady (BPD Zenith), Russell Bee (IBM Maximo Lead Product Architect) kicked off the afternoon's presentations with an update and roadmap on MAS, Manage and Mobile, followed by Niksa Kicac from Golar LNG, who shared Golar's Maximo journey, and challenges in achieving a mature mobile solution with Anywhere.

Donna McWilliams (Electra Learning) discussed the importance of Change Management and shared techniques and best practices that really improve adoption. In the final session (a last-minute change to the agenda), Roger Kennedy and Rick Scott discussed our recent Maximo implementation in Water Utilities, and how Scheduler Plus was optimised to manage field resources.

Specifically designed around the requirements and areas of interest for the Energy community, following 10 years of successfully running our Maximo Oil & Gas Forum in Aberdeen, the scope extension for the Maximo Energy User Forum is a natural step, allowing us to build on our proud offshore heritage. Extending the event to include renewables and utilities can better reflect the agile nature of the companies involved in energy production activities. We look forward to greater shared learnings and being a part of building a more sustainable energy sector for the future.

The forum relies on your input - what can you share?

For 10 years now, the User Forum has shared its experiences of using IBM Maximo. Have you been involved in an interesting Maximo project over the last 12-18 months? The group would love to hear about it! Can you share your experience? How did your organisation adapt during the pandemic? How has this better prepared them for the future workforce? Lessons Learned etc. We would be delighted to help shape these ideas further with you.
